Joshua 1-3 Reflection:
Joshua is chosen by God to be the successor of Moses and is appointed to lead His people and guide them in the "Promised Land." He became commander or the officers of the Israelites, and prepared everyone to journey over the Jordan into their rightfully inherited land that the Lord had given them. To help prepare them aside from provisions, he sent two spies to survey the land before venturing further. Jericho was the main target to evaluate and they stayed in the home of Rahab (a prostitute) who humbly hid them at risk of her own life for the king of Jericho discovered that they were there. It was because of the miracles the Lord had done such as the parting of the red sea that Rahab knew their purpose of being there so she honored their mission. But also wished for her and her family to be remembered with kindness when the time came for Jericho to fall to them.
