Judges 6-7 Reflection:

I am amazed how disobedient and how much backsliding was done by God's people. It reminds me of when the plagues befell Egypt and Pharoah cried tell your God to stop the plague and I'll set your people free. The instant the plague stop Pharoah's heart was hard and he still refused. It wasn't until the most severe of the plagues hit that involved every Egyptian firstborn that he finally caved to the demand. But even then in his anger he tried to go after that were freed and God once more dealt with them. Of course the angel of death passed over the Israelites because they had the lamb's blood on their door post, such a powerful mark of obedience to do so and spare the Hebrews that fate. Where is that reverence and obedience with God's people after their freedom and as well as our own freedom today in modern times? Why do we take it all for granted so often. I know for me and my husband, us and our house will serve the Lord. We have that blood on our door post.

In today's new testament reading is something me and the wife had been talking about for a while now. What stands out to be is you can't necessarily pick where the seed falls. But spread the word of God to all. Cast your seeds where they may fall. But know that some will stick some will falter some will bloom and some will fail. Garden those that take root and help prune them to maturity. You can't always be the one who takes all their time caring for just 1 planted seed for God had many gardeners. Some to water some to prune some to plant and it's up to God where it goes. And it is up to the seed to pay attention to where it grows. Where it roots in fertile soil or grows without foundation. God gives us clear instruction so most of the work is within ourselfs. We can teach guide and deciple but we must never forget to keep ourselfs in check and be open to pruning as well.

Amen! Well said love. I would say we should practice discernment too when planting.
