Deuteronomy 28 Reflection:
Today's reading is all about consequences. If you obey, the Lord blesses you. If you disobey the Lord curses you. This may seem harsh but it is done with love. Those that are cursed serve as an example but often we bring our own curses upon ourselves with our actions. Rebellion is as witchcraft to the Lord, living in rebellion is being disobedient. It even appears that there are more negative consequences than there are the abundance of blessings. Keep remembering this theme in Old Testament, "To obey is better than sacrifice." Look to Cain and Abel for the best example.
