Deuteronomy 26-27 Reflection:
In these passages we see that to serve others is also to serve the Lord. We give our first fruits, the BEST and the first to Him in obedience and Thanksgiving. Specifically to the Levites, the sojourners, and the widows. The less fortunate and the ones devoted to the priesthood. This is to bless those that are devoted to the Lord and practice humility. Mark 10:35-45 comes to mind when considering the meaning behind tithing. But we are not to boast about what we are giving and continue to be humble servants to the Lord and to serve others would also mean doing even the things we believe is beneath us. To walk in His ways we must also wash the feet of His followers and give with thankfulness if God has provided that to give.
