1 Samuel 17-18 Reflection:

The tale of David and Goliath is found in these passages. David was not a warrior, he was a shepherd but when he saw his kin cowering to the Philistines, the very enemy the Lord often delivered into the hands of Israel. The giant Goliath mocked them and God, and David stood before him and fought by faith with one stone. He knew that one stone would be all he needed because he had faith God would strike him down in one hit. He proclaimed that faith with his mouth and expressed that boldness in the Spirit. He was called a man after God's own heart because of his faith and obedience to the Lord. What giants are you facing today with just a slingshot? "Slingshot faith" is knowing that God will make the mark even if things look scary. Your faithfulness to God brings favor to your life. If doubt hinders your faith, be prepared with more than one stone. David had extra stones but not for Goliath, he trusted and believed he only had need for one hit kills with God fighting with him, but the giant had brothers and he was prepared to keep fighting them all. If everyone is given a measure of faith, and faith the size of a mustard seed can casts mountains into the sea, then we all are given faith enough to slay the giants in our lives. ALL of them.

In today's reading it talks about how just 1 who repents will be received with praise more so then someone who was never lost. It is good to always be in the presence of the lord but if your lost and return the lord throws a party. The heavens sing when you go from lost to repentant and found. You don't have to be perfect because Jesus covered you in his perfect blood but return from being lost and repent and the heavens will sing.
